Sharing "Address" table in virual companies is creating problems (AX 2009 SP1)

Hi All,

I created two companies A and B and shared them with virtual company VIR. I created a table collection with custtable and address table and used that table collection in my virtual company VIR. After seeting this up I loaded demo data into companies A and B but got a strange output.

I can't see any customer addresses on the customer main form (under Addresses tab), though I can see them when I click on Setup -> Address i.e. under alternate addresses.

When I tried creating my own customers in both the companies, then also the address was not stored in custtable or address table and ofcourse was not seen on the form.

When I only share custtable (not address table) then I am able to create my own customers and see them with correct addresses in both A abd B companies.

Please help why "address" table is creating problems.

Thanks, Preeti

    Hi Preeti

Have you all the required tables between address and customer in the table collection too? As I can remember in AX 2009 there are a lot relation tables between ...

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks a lot for replying. Can you please give me the list of tables (or link to AX doc) that we need in the collation.

    Thanks,

    Preeti

    Hello Preeti

There is existing table colllection in Ax as DirPartyCollection, if you share it that will solve ur issue but this collection has tables other then address as well.

If you want to share address tables only, then tables willl be DirPartyTable, DirPartyAddressRelationship, DirPartyAddressRelationshipmapping and Address tables.

You can alos  verify these tables from CustTable form's datasource section, Please try this in test environment first.

Please check this and let me know for any concern.

    Thanks.

    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

Thanks a lot for replying back. I looked into DirPartyCollection but it does not have "Address" table which we want to virtualize. This collection has the following tables:

    DirECommunicationAddress

    DirECommunicationTypeTable

    DirECommunicationTypeTxt

    DirOrganizationDetail

    DirParameters

    DirPartyAddressRelationship

    DirPartyAddressRelationshipMapping

    DirPartyECommunicationRelationship

    DirPartyRelationship

    DirPartyTable

    DirPersonGenerationalSuffixTable

    DirPersonPartyDetail

    DirPersonSalutationTable

    DirPrivacyGroupTable

    DirRelationshipTypeTable

Please suggest how to proceed. Also can you please tell me the reason why customer addresses are not shown on the form when we virtualize "Address" table. But in the backend tables we can see the correct addresses.

    Thanks,

    Preeti

    Hello Preeti,

If  u read my prevoius post  again then u will find that I have mentioned the tables that u need to share for addresses that includes  address table as well.

below  is the list of tables that u need  to share in order to show addresses on the customer form.

    DirPartyTable

    DirPartyAddressRelationship

    DirPartyAddressRelationshipmapping

    Address

Now  the reason why u r not able to see the address on the customer form is if u see the CustTable form there u will see all these above tables are linked in the datasource section.

Please try this and let me know for any concern..

    Thanks.

    Kiran.

Hi, it is a quite old post... but I am facing the same issue.. Already included these tables on the table collections and copied from original company to a dat/def file.

Any other idea? If I take out the company from the virtual company I can see the original address...
