Depreciation is not Calculating

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I need a help..

Scenario is like this...

First we had reversed the Opening Balances of Fixed Assets (Both Acquisition & Depreciation) as it was not audited.

After audit, we again re-uploaded the Opening Balances of Fixed Assets (Both Acquisition & Depreciation).

But now if we run the depreciation proposal, Depreciation is not calculated on the net book value (Acquisition-Depreciation). It is calculating on Acquisition directly.

We are trying to run the Depreciation on "Straight line percentage"

Request any one to help me on the same.

Regards

Kiran

    HI Kiran,

What values were given for the asset book? Can you provide an example?

    Hi Kiran,

Can you double check what method is setup in the depreciation profile that you use?

Please test if "straing line life remaining" helps fixing your problem.

In your fixed asset value model please also check when the acquisition value was posted again and when the depreciation was posted to ensure that the depreciation was not post on a later date far in the future.

    Hope it helps,

    Ludwig

    Dear Mr. Andre,

Example, I have created the asset group as C&A @ 44.5%. Depreciation Profile created in  "Straight line percentage".

    Asset ID - C0335

Acquisition Value - 45,576.00 as on 01.07.15 (Opening Balance Upload)

Depreciation        --37,865.49 as on 01.07.15 (Opening Balance Upload)

    Net Book Value    - 7,710.51.00

If I run the depreciation profile as on 31.12.2015

The value it is calculating on Acquisition - 45,576.00

    i.e., 45,576*44.5%/12*6 = 10,140.66/-

This should not be the one where there will be negative impact in Fixed asset.

This is the case where I am finding difficulty.

    Regards

    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

There are two Straight line Depreciation Methods:

Straight Line - Service Life - This always uses the Gross Book Value (GBV)

Straight Line - Remaining Life - This uses the Net Book Value in subsequent periods. This takes the NBV / Remaining life (you must have the correct Depreciation Periods Remaining set correctly in the value model)

It sounds like you need to create a Value model that uses Straight line - Remaining Life depreciation profile..

    Regards

    Phil
