What determines line number in transfer order line

It is the order in which the lines were entered or firmed. If one line is deleted, the numbers do not change. Example line 1 deleted, the first transfer line is still number 2, because it was originally entered as line two. So you have 3 lines but line 3 is actually numbered line 4 because a line was deleted.
I have line with negative line number ,, first line is one and any other entry will have negative line number
If you are adding a line on top of the 1st entry, it will be a negative line number. If you use the down arrow key to enter a new line it will become line 2.
Thank you So much Meredith Southern, this workaround helped me to figure out why there was a negative line number in the line Num field.
