Unable to Connect to Multiple UDE Environments in Visual Studio

Hi All,

We have two UDE environments deployed in the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC).
1.The first UDE environment was deployed nearly a year ago and has been working fine for development activities
2.Based on a new requirement, we deployed a second UDE environment in PPAC about a month ago. Now, when trying to connect to either UDE from Visual Studio, we receive the following message, even though I selected the required environment in the environments dropdown:
"Multiple Power Platform environments are available to you. Please choose the environment you would like to connect to."
3.I have installed the metadata for both environments, as shown in the attached screenshots.

  1. In the screenshots, the metadata for one environment shows a recent installation date, even though that UDE was deployed a year ago. Last Friday, while connected to the older UDE, I accidentally clicked on Dynamics 365 FinOps Assets. I'm not sure if this action is related to the issue, but I wanted to mention it.

  2. Is it supported to connect to multiple UDE environments from a single Visual Studio installation? If so, what is the recommended approach?

It is supported; even the message implies that it's a scenario that the tooling takes into account.

You should be able to choose an environment by Dynamics 365 > Configure metadata.

    Hi Charanch,

When connecting to the Power Platform environment, enable the option Display list of available organizations. That will give you a list of environments to choose from after providing your credentials. When connected, then check the active configuration via Configure metadata as mentioned by Martin.

Hi @André Arnaud de Calavon ,

I selected same like as you mentioned above, even though I have active metadata configuration and selecting the right environment in visual studio, still the system showing this message  :
Multiple Power Platform environments are available to you. Please choose the environment you would like to connect to.

At what moment and where do you get this message? Is it at time of connecting to a Power Platform environment or another moment?
