Last heartbeat in Job Queues is not updated

Hi,

We have setup multiple job queues for running different processes.

I see that last heartbeat of job queues is not updating properly because of which job queue entries are not running at the scheduled time.

These job queues are started automatically by NAS services. But sometimes even if services are up and running job queues dont work. Job queue fields Started is True but last hearbeat has old datetime.

After lot of research on this, I now see that the problem is due to last heartbeat of job queue not getting updated (every 10 seconds).  After I restart the service it will work fine and also Last Heartbeat will be updated with current DateTime. And then after a day or two the same issue happens . Regular manual check is required to see if job queue is running or stopped.

So I want to know what can be the reasons behind job queue Last HeartBeat not updating with currentdatetime?

Will appreciate any kind of tips to resolve this.

Thanks,

Vidya

    Hi Vidya,

i think you have assigned this job queue to job queue entry right? if it is right the assigned job queue entry may be error, finished or stock with in process. If assigned job queue entry finished with success then only job queue last heartbeat will update with currentdatetime.

    Thank You

    Ramesh.

    Hi Ramesh,

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes the job queue is assigned to a job queue entry. I tried to check if the last heartbeat of the job queue is updated if job queue entry is in error. I see that it still updates the last heartbeat every every minute even if job queue entry status is in error, on-hold etc. :(

    Thanks,

Have you setup the service time zone & service default company in the dynamics nav service used for job queue.
