How to select a data from one table to store it in variable without table relation.

Hi, 

I created a one variable (Text) in a page which has no source table i need to select the value for that variable  from item table by look up.

And that is not a primary key field so, how do i retrieve value for that without table relation.

    Thanks for the reply, 

    Here i want to filter the production forecast matrix sub form by using item category code(Item. Item category code) which i was placed as a variable in production forecast screen , this condition should be work  as like location filter. The value of the item category code variable is Item . Item category code.
