Sales Professional Licence

Hi,


We are comparing should we purchase Sales Professional or Sales Enterprise licence, according to this page: https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/sales/ it is listed that following options won't be supported in Sales Professional licence:

  • Knowledge management
  • Gamification
  • Competitors, sales goals, and territory management

Can someone please explain what those functionality mean exactly and what is an example of usage.
Regarding sales goals does it mean that you can't create and track goals per person or business unit?

    Hi Davor,

    What I mean is the OOTB goal management of the link you provided will be unavailable in Sales Professional License.

    To be more clear, if you want to use the D365 OOTB goal management module, you should pay for Sales Enterprise License, if you only pay for Professional, you could use the  advantage of D365's extensibility and customizability to create a custom Goal management module but not the OOTB module.

    1.Knowledge management module is a feature under Customer Service application. It is used to store and manage knowledge articles in D365. It will be more used in Customer Service like when resolving cases, we could refer to related knowledge articles to improve our work efficiency.

    2.Gamification is used to  gamify KPIs for Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement and motivate employees to deliver their best results. It is designed to improve productivity.

    3.Competitors is created to track your competitors and their strengths and weaknesses can help you win sales.

      Sales goals is an OOTB tool which provides the ability to manage KPIs in just a few clicks in D365. We can see the progress of our work and the degree of achievement of our goals more visually.

      If we don't use this tool, we could also create a custom solution with custom entities and other customizations.

      Territory management is used to Improve sales potential and revenues by creating territories for customer and market segments in customer engagement apps.

    And we could found that all the modules you've mentioned are about KPI management in D365. You can decide whether to purchase these features based on your business needs.
