W1 Training License for NAV2016 not good?

Hi,

Today I installed NAV 2016 CU1 W1 from Partnersource, and also downloaded the training license for NAV2016. Installed NAV2016 with the Cronus.flf license, which I can see correctly in the Development environment. However, when I try to change or upload the "CRONUS Training Centres W1.flf" that I pasted (without opening it) in the same folder as Cronus.flf, I get the message for the training license 2016 "The file format is invalid. The file is not a valid license file."

Wonder if the training license currently in Partnersource is not compatible with the CU1 NAV2016?

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

You need to upload the license to Dynamics NAV using development environment. Please do follow below blog for more info on how to upload : tharangac-dynamicsnav.blogspot.com/.../how-to-upload-license-file-into_18.html

Hi Tharanga, thanks for your reply. I am actually using the Dynamics NAV development environment to change/upload the training license. It is in there that I get the message above, which makes me think that license is not good. I wonder you have actually tried to upload/change the training license for NAV2016 I mentioned and worked ok with you, or you just suggested the usual way of doing it thinking I wasn't following the correct procedure?

I have tried it many times and didn't got a error message like you mentioned.

BTW, even if I choose the [Database/Alter.../Integration/Save license in database] method the result is the same: "File format is invalid. (...)". I wonder this is an issue just with NAV2016 W1 CU1 and the published training W1 license?

    Hi NAVer,

I don't know if it's still relevant, but today I ran into the same issue as you did. I had downloaded the license on last December 16 (just after it was published). To check I decided to download the license file once again form PartnerSource and now it is working OK.

Try generating the training license once more now, perchance the previous might be corrupted somehow? Normally I never faced an issue that you mentioned.
