Deletion of recurring duplicate detection jobs

Hello,

After cancelling a recurring duplicate detection job on the contact entity, I have attempted to delete it; however, it is stating:

"You can't cancel or delete this system job because it's required by the system. You can only pause, resume, or postpone this job."

Is there a way to delete these jobs, as I am getting the same error for every cancelled duplicate detection job. I have also tried all other available actions (Pause, resume, postpone) but they are all giving system errors. ]

Much appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Please create a support ticket and the engineers can delete the jobs from back end by running a script.

    HI,

Unfortunately you can not delete because it is restricted by the platform and the error you are getting is OOB dataverse error -

    Hello,

Thank you very much for that. It does ask to contact support but the explanation as to why is helpful.

    Hello Nya,

Thank you very much for that, this is what the error had stated so I will do so, as it appears there is no other way currently.

    Hi,

There's actually a way to delete these jobs, after a lot of trying I finally got it.

If the system job is not cancelled, cancel it first.

After the system job is cancelled, you need to update the asyncoperation record setting the field recurrencestarttime to 9999-12-31. To do that you can use XrmToolBox with the Bulk Data Updater tool. I have no ideia why, but when you do that, the field recurrencepattern is set to null by the system and then you can delete the system job. Someone might be thinking, why not just update the recurrencepattern to null directly? Well, that's because it won't work, believe me I tried.

    Hi Nya,

Unfortunately, after raising a ticket, Microsoft confirmed this was not possible but suggested it be added to their ideas board.
