How can I add a new column in the customer table?

Hi everyone, i want to add a new column in the customer table and add it in the form when i will add a new customer , so how can i do this ?

Hi,

You have to open the Table Customer (Table 18) on Design Mode, and you can create any number of fields in 50000 range.

After adding the field, compile and save it.

Then open the Page Customer List (Page 22) or Card (Page 21) on design mode and click new, and type the new field that you have created.

Also, you have many properties associated with the new field you created on the page. You can take advantage of it.

Once you have done creating the field(s), then you can access these fields to the existing customers and new customers.

Hi Kamilia,

If the needed column not list under the available column, then you have to add this through the development environment , where in page 21 you can add the new fields.

Once you done this it will lists in the available columns in the front end.

Hi ,Maybe my licence dos not allow me to add a new column :( so if i can change the name of any properties without damage ?

Hi,

Do you mean to change the caption of the field? Yes, you can. But please be 100% of what are you doing.

Best thing to do is, contacting a local partner about your query.

ok .I download a licence that open the design mode but it doesn't allow me to add a new column so if there is a licence that i can download it and allow me to do this.

i just use the demo database and licence so i don't have any partner i just want to know if ther is a licence that i can download it and allow me to do this

If you have access to MSDN, you can download MSDN demo license, which has less restrictions. In particular, it can allow you to create new fields in just one table, and it is by luck Table 18 :-).
