Jet Reports Issue

(3) ShareShare
ReportReport

We have a user in Business Central facing issues with Jet Reports:

  • One company → data missing

  • Second company → duplicate data

  • Sometimes → value errors or no data

  •

We checked permissions and everything is fine. Other users can run the same reports without any issue. We also tested via Jet Reports Excel add-in, but problem still exists.

Please someone tell Any idea what could be the root cause and fix for this user-specific issue because its been almost more than 3 month?

One suggestion: try getting a copy of the working report from another user and then have the user experiencing the issue run it. Sometimes the affected user has an older version of the report, or something may be broken in their copy.

    Hi Peter,

As Jet Reports is a 3rd party vendor solution, have you also contacted their support department?

Jet Report is not a standard feature of BC; I recommend that you contact our partners directly.

    Thanks.

This almost sounds to me like the user is pointed to the wrong environment. The reason why is because they seem to be able to run reports but data seems to be duplicated.

While this is a jet issue and you should reach out to their support (or ideally your partner, jet support can sometimes be more general). Please have the user try the following steps as they may help you.

They should first confirm the data source settings they have.
If they select Settings > Data Source Settings they can see the settings they have:
They should make sure they have the exact same settings as another user who can run the reports succesfully. The tabs you need to check are the Web Service tab:
    And the Drilldown tab:

Make sure all the settings are exactly the same as another user as I mentioned above. Then try again. If they are pointed to a sandbox that may be causing problems. Jet could also have problems such as date errors which might be triggering other errors. It would be hard to say without looking at the report but you would really need to work with a partner to resolve those issues.

    Hello,
If it’s only one user and the same Jet report works for others, I’d stop looking at BC permissions and look more at that user’s Jet/Excel/profile setup: wrong company name/filter, stale local cache/session, bad Excel add-in profile, or a user-specific filter/option saved in the workbook or Jet data source. Since you’re seeing missing data in one company, duplicates in another, and sometimes value/no data errors, that usually points more to filters/company context/cached connection state than core BC data. In BC docs, wrong company context and filter issues are common causes of missing or incorrect data, and Excel/add-in issues can also be user-specific even when permissions are fine. Practical fix: test the same user on a different Windows profile / different PC, clear Jet cache/settings, recreate the Jet data source/login, re-authenticate the Excel add-in, and verify the exact company name and any workbook/report filters saved for that user. If the problem follows only that user everywhere, it’s likely a Jet client profile/config issue; if it follows only one workbook, it’s likely a report/filter design issue.
    Regards,

It seems this is quite a common issue when using Jet Reports with Business Central. In our case, we’ve seen different problems for a specific user—sometimes Jet disappears completely, sometimes a report doesn’t run, or certain filters show errors. As a practical workaround, I usually reconfigure Jet entirely for that user. I copy the data source from another machine where Jet is working correctly, then set it up again. After that, I copy a working version of the report from the other system and run it. Most of the time, this approach resolves the issue successfully.

    Hi, good day
I hope this can help you, and give you some hints.

Use Business Central with Jet Analytics – Jet
