Web Client Access Error

I'm attempting to establish web client access for a Dynamics GP 2016 R2 install.

In attempting to set up this access I am getting the following error message. You are not allowed to use Microsoft Dynamics GP. Please sign out and sign in with an authorized account. Correlation ID: 41df5b65-bcd7-4b98-8374-79f551951ca0

I'm at a loss as to what could be causing the error as the expected issue of a disconnect between password encryption on the sql and dynamics login side has been accounted for by ensuring the sql login was created utilizing the dynamics gp utility.

The login is utilizing web client only access with windows login credentials.

Any ideas on testing to determine what the issue is would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Terencesg

I just recently had a client report this same type of error message.  I knew the web client was setup and working correctly as we had tested it with Self Service users and full users.

As it turned out my client forgot to add this new user to the GPWebUsers Security group that was setup. Once added, the user's access worked fine.

You did mention that you dod setup the sql login using GP Utilities.  I would check that the user belongs to a security group for starters that you probably setup as one of the first steps of the implementation of the web client.

It did end up being a user group permission issue.  The user group being used was set up as a nested group that included other user groups nested inside instead of individual users.  Once a user group listing individual users was utilized instead everything worked fine.
