Unable to add new user to management reporter

Hi All,

I have installed Management reporter by installing Ax 2012 Cu7. with the service account I gave at installation time, I can open the management reporter. We are using different users in a server machine. Other than service account, Ax users are unable to connect to management reporter. It is throwing an error "Cannot connect to management reporter server, do u want to specify a different server address". The User have all major roles specified in Ax 2012.

I did another work around by logging in with service account and adding the AX 2012 user with which I want to connect to Management reporter. But I am getting an error that cannot add user to the management reporter using an integrated company as shown below.

Could anyone help me in adding AX 2012 user to management reporter.

Hi RamaKrishna,

First you need to check if the server is configured in Console Management Reporter and your company is Imported.

Secondgo to Management Reporter ------> Society and choose your company

- To add a user in Management Report go to AX 2012 System Administrator ------> Users

Choose wich user will be connect in Management Reporter and Edit user, In Roles User assign roles ----> Accounting Manager....

Management Reporter will be synchronized with AX 2012

Hi

Thanks for your reply. But I did this as mentioned by you, I have added a new user and given the role as Accounting manager. When I tried to add the user in the MR, it throws an error as mentioned below.

"New user can't be created in management reporter when using an integrated company. To create a new user, you must create it first in the source system".

Is this related to license issue ?

Please help me in this regard.

Hi Ramakrishna ,

Normally when you add a user to Ax 2012 and you give him the roles of Accounting Manager, synchronization is done automatically between Ax and Management Reporter 2012.

You start the MR then go the Security tab you will find the new user added.

You do not need to add a user on MR.

Hi RamaKrishna,

The same issue even i got in my one of MR 2012 instance, i have fixed the issue. Please find the cause and resolution below.

Cause:-

1. In the MR Configuration Console----> DataMart and AX 2012 Configured user login account might be disabled or missing proper permissions, so the AX and MR database is not in sync.

Resolution:-

In the MR Configuration Console:-

1. Properly Configure with the following things, AOS server name, AOS Port Number by default installation it will be "2712",AX database name,MR database name,AOS services Metadata Port number by default ax installation it will be "8102" and the integration port by default it will be "4712" must be opened in the firewall to communicate regularly.

2. Update the AX 2012 credentials with the proper user who having the "dbreader" or "sysadmin" role in SQL database server where the AX and MR database is placed.

3. Update the DataMart Credentials with the above mentioned same user.

4. The Configured user account should not be disabled and password for the user account must be never expired.

5. Once the above steps are completed, sync the AX and MR database again. In the MR Configuration Console the status should be like this "Initial integration is complete. Periodic integration's will occur"

6. Then try add the new user, you will able to create the new user without any error.

Dear All,

I was facing same issue, after googling almost 6-8 hours, i found nothing. Then i shutdown my system completely, and start my PC after that i restarted the services. the point of notice is that, Run as administrator the AX by shortcut.

Dear All,

I have the same error, again I set all in Reconfiguration Cosole and show the same error,

The user has the correct roles in AX, the integration in MR is doing and i don´t know what i don´t créate other users.

Help me please :(

Assuming you have granted the users the correct roles the remaining step is to use the installer and admin account to insert the Management Reporter License so the service can add all the users who should have access. Without the license, the service will only insert less than a handful of users.
