Posted on by Microsoft Employee

there is a case where Navision 2009r2 with LS retail 6.4 is suddenly having a slow performance reporting issue! Reports based on TSE table (size=27GB). Its SQL DB (150GB) , simple recovery mode,where maintenance is frequently running along with update statistics. 32GB RAM Server, Raid 1+0 (6x300GB). Any suggestions?

    RE: Reports slow performance?

    hi,

    what has changed on the report, on the table?
    how many pages does the resulting report have?
    how many data rows, how many columns?
    do you print images? how much, what's their size (in MB)?
    please embed a screenshot of the report in your answer.

    Hi,

    We have noted the issue with reports reading from trans sales entry (Ls retail) while GL reports like inventory valuation is going on normal. The reports were fast before but now it very slow. (before up to 15mins, now exceeds 45min)

    Hi,

    Generally, Large report data cause this issue since it consumes the memory and buffers. For an example : Inventory valuation report.

    Just check the your same report with some small period or set of data and check the time.

    If this is the issue then it needs to optimize the report like using the temp table.

    Regards,

    RE: Reports slow performance?

    hi,

    slow performance in reports is normally caused by:

    * a large amount of data

    * data, which is loaded many times instead of once

    * (large) images, e.g. logo

    * c/al code in the report or in used codeunit, which is run very often although not necessary

    * insufficient memory

    * slow hardware

    * slow database (connection)
