Ledger Allocation Process - Zero Source

Ledger allocation Process Rule job has a parameter called 'Zero Source' with two options, Process and Stop.
 
What is this parameter meant to do? 
 
My question is what the functional implication of 'Zero Source' parameter? It almost seems Microsoft is giving us option of distributing 'zero' amount which does not make any sense.

    The "Zero Source" parameter relates to how the system handles transactions with a source amount of zero during the allocation process. If zero amounts are posted incorrectly or generated, you may want the system to include or exclude them based on your business rules. Therefore, the system gives This option is provided to flexibly control whether you need to process zero amounts at the same time when allocating other non-zero amounts. As the documentation says, the process option is to include zero amounts, and the stop option is to skip zero amounts.

    I still dont get it. If the amount is zero then system will throw an error while allocating. There is no way a system can allocate a zero amount. :(
