Hi ALL,

I’m trying to connect to TFS from AX.

The code that I try to use is the following:

 2335.AX_5F00_TFS.jpg

but on the #22 row I’ve got this error

Error_5F00_AX_5F00_TFS.jpg

Then I tried to replicate the code in Visual Studio

5140.VS_5F00_TFS.jpg

Error that I’ve got here is the following:

Exception:Thrown: "Server was unable to process request. ---> TF400367: The request could not be performed due to a host type mismatch. Please check any connection information and verify the information is correct. The request was executed against a Deployment, Application." (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Client.TeamFoundationServiceException)

A Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Client.TeamFoundationServiceException was thrown: "Server was unable to process request. ---> TF400367: The request could not be performed due to a host type mismatch. Please check any connection information and verify the information is correct. The request was executed against a Deployment, Application."

Have you checked the work item provider in AX?

    \Classes\SysVersionControlWorkItemProviderTFS

    \Visual Studio Projects\C Sharp Projects\SysVersionControlTfsFacade

That is the one used for establishing connection and getting back work items to list ChangeSets for example from TFS for AX Version Control. You might get inspiration from the codebase in there.

Such problems are usually occurring when you refer incorrect versions for the TFS client.

I suspect that TFS client libraries aren't compatible with your TFS application tier.

What is the version of the TFS service and your AX (please include information about cumulative updates in both cases).

Have you installed any TFS compatibility packs on the machine where you're running your code?

    Hi Vilmos, Martin,

    Thank you for quick reply.

    I have the following properties:

    AX 2012 R3 CU12

    TFS Server 2015

The VS 2013 is installed on the machine, where development is performed. The TFS compatibility packs (Microsoft.TeamFoundation) has been installed together with VS installation.

    Assembly version:

Using Standard AX VCS with TFS is supported between AX 2012 R3 CU9 and above, so you should be good to go:

    blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../announcing-support-for-team-foundation-server-2015-with-ax-2012-r2-and-r3

Why are you trying to custom connect to TFS from X++? Is this to try to address connectivity problems with your Standard VCS in AX? Or you want to do something different, and version control is not intended for your MorphX/X++? Just to get a clearer picture on why are you implementing your own code for something that is already there.

We want to use TFS not in the way that it’s intended for (as a version control). We want to update (from AX) the actual time that was spent for the task of Project. For each Project different TFS can be setup, that’s why we can’t use the TFS, which connected to the version control

Vilmos, Martin, once again – thank you for time you’ve spent. I was having this error due to wrong url address of the TSF server. Now it’s fixed (URL) and it’s works. Thank you
