Can we reserve sales orders against a PARTICULAR transfer order?

Hi,

I know that we can reserve sales orders from' reservation' tab.

And AX assigns any incoming transfer order to it..ANY transfer order that comes first.

But Can we reserve sales orders against a PARTICULAR transfer order?

Say, a Transfer order IWT...123 is coming in on 7th of April.

also a transfer order wth same item IWT*456 is also coming same day.

Can we reserve the sales order SO*XYZ against particular Transfer order IWT*123?

Hi PranuSwamy,

If you want to reserve specific order, please use marking feature to achieve that.

Yeah...Inventory->Marking

I just googled it and came to know that we can mark sales orders for other orders.

But does that mean we can mark the sales orders against transfer orders?

Hi PranuSwamy,

Yes, transfer order is divided into Transfer order receive and Transfer order shipment, SO line will mark the Transfer order receive.

Please try it in your test environment first.

No, reservation form is based on the inventory quantity, not specific order.

I don't think you can directly mark transfer order against sales order . You can take a look at functionality of direct delivery SO where PO is created for SO and and as soon as PO is received inventory get reserved to the SO. Doing similar thing for TO involves complexity ,I had done that in the past in Ax 2009. In standard environment , you can not mark transfer order directly to SO.

On SO form, in the Lines section, you can click Inventory button and choose Marking. Then you should be able to mark the SO line (or part of it) with a Transfer order.
