Power Pages Knowledge Base Articles view counts not increasing

Hi there,

I support a Dynamics and Power Pages system that uses the OOTB Knowledge Base Articles. The view count on the pages don't seem to be increasing at all. I can't find much information about this online, but I can see in the "Analytics" tab of each article, there is a section called "views" which has a "recalculate" button. If I were to go into the article on the Power Pages portal a few times, then click recalculate, it stays at 0. Am I missing something about this feature?

I read a few times that the view count is a 'per day' count, but that wouldn't stop the count from increasing while I am clicking in and out of them several times.
Thanks in advance!

    UPDATE:
In case anyone reads this post looking for answers, this is a bug that Microsoft must fix. Please see below from MS:

"We had final confirmation from our product team that for enhanced portals the view counter does not work since there is a missing control not present in the enhanced templates as of now.
In case the view counter functionality is needed we would recommend to use the standard model portals with community type template to achieve this behavior until a template specifically for forums is created in the future."

Of course when the portal and it's pages are in production we can't just throw it away and start again with standard model portals and community type templates, but this might help others with this issue. We will wait for them to release a fix for this.

Hi @MichaelTorres, thanks so much for your reply. I am looking for that setting but having some trouble. Are you referring to Site Settings which is an option in Power Pages Management, or were you referring to some place in the Admin Centre?
I assumed it was the former, but I don't see any site settings with names that resemble what you have said. The only one with the word tracking in it refers to login tracking for users. Let me know if I have misunderstood, thanks!

    Kind regards

I see what you're dealing with. It's pretty common to see the view count stuck at 0, even after multiple visits to the article. The view count feature in Power Pages doesn't always update in real-time, and a couple of things might be happening.

First, make sure that web tracking is enabled in the Power Pages settings. Sometimes, even if the Recalculate button is clicked, the view count won't update unless the tracking is set up correctly. You can check this in the admin settings under Site Settings, just confirm that EnableTracking is turned on.
Second, it's important to note that the view count isn't updated instantly. It can take several hours for the views to reflect, and even after recalculating, the data might not show up right away.

So, if you’re sure tracking is enabled, it’s likely just a matter of waiting a little longer for the data to refresh properly.
