Hi all,
I need to a task to be generated for a Manager when an employee has returned to work, e.g the day after their Leave Request. Is this something that is possible through the Workflow Engine or do I need to use something like Power Automate?
If it is, can you provide details on how to accomplish it?
Kind regards,
Matt
Hello Matt,
Thank you for your question - just in looking through what is available for Leave and Absence workflows, or related Human Resources workflows, if it is not present as an available action it most likely may require another method. So specifically we would need a workflow related to leave that can recognize 'Upon Return' as a trigger action - but the only leave and absence workflow I am seeing available at the current time is related to approval. Unfortunately, my skillset remains solely within the D365 application sphere - others may be able to speak to the possibility of power automate or other tools.
Thanks mate,
I am also from a D365 background so its a bit frustrating!
I think I am going to have to do something in Power Automate, although I am not 100% sure how the "Task" tables work in Human Resources or if there is any documentation about them.
I am assuming if I can add the correct table as a virtual entity into the "Dataverse" I can connect a flow to fire when a Leave Request is changed to approved, then wait until the return date and then create a task record in the table. Wish me luck!
Cheers,
