Hi Experts,

How to handle Facility maintenance scenarios in the D365 Asset management module?

If the request is coming to do maintenance of something which is not an asset.

For example:

1. Light not working in a particular location.

2. The window not closing properly.

3. Water leakage from a pipe.

Can anyone help me handle this type of scenario?

Hi,

How about creating a dummy asset (e.g. FM: Facilities Management) for the above-mentioned requirements?

Then, requester can add detailed request (e.g. The window not closing properly) in Description field of Maintenance Requests or Work Orders.

Maintenance Requests can only be created for assets.

Hi,

Since the assets is mandatory to select, to handle the given situation, i can suggest these kind of assets.

If the request is coming to do maintenance of something which is not an asset.

For example:

1. Light not working in a particular location.

2. The window not closing properly.

3. Water leakage from a pipe.

Here Create Assets for that particular locations like Building|Floor 1|Flat001, this is how Facilites management organization works with Assets management.
