can we freeze the appointment for the duration

Is it possible to manage temporary appointments, freezing the slot provided for a limited duration?
Once the duration has expired, the slot becomes bookable again

Not sure this is what you are looking for, but the new Schedule Board does show appointments (appointment table in Dataverse) against resources. In other words, resources do get logically booked when they are added to appointments.

You can make a field on the Appointment entity called 'Appointment Freezed' Yes/No.

When a Appointment is created then set the 'Appointment Freezed' to Yes.

You can then create a flow/worklow with a timeout condition after a certain amount of time to set the 'Appointment Freezed' field to No - debajmecrm.com/.../

You will also need to create a Real Time workflow as well to throw and error if someone tries to update the appointment while the field 'Appointment Freezed' is set to Yes. - jukkaniiranen.com/.../
