Customer Statements In Batch

Hi All

I am trying to set up a batch of customers within AX to receive customer statements.

Some of the customers, I have set up so the print management destination for the customer statement as an email. I have set up the email address and subject.

Other customers will follow the normal route set up in the batch job as a PDF saved to a file destination.

How can I set the batch job up for it to send the statement to a customer via email if set up, or if not default to a PDF in the file destination?

Thank you

Simon

    Hello Simon,

In Print Management under Accounts receivable > Setup > Forms > Form Setup you should have the destination setup as PDF saved to a file destination for Customer account statement.

Under the customer you should have a override setup going to the customers email in Accounts receivable > Commin > Customers > All customers > General > Print management

Now when you setup the customer account statement batch job just select use print management destination and schedule it to batch. This will follow what ever you have setup in print management.

Just one final question, not sure if you will know this Boris.

But when I select a file destination for the statements in the form setup I get a directory does not exist error.

I believe this is due to the fact that all files in AX must be saved to the server where the AX instance is installed?

    Thank you

    Simon

Hi Simon. Customer statements write to a temporary folder when it has printed more than 5 to screen, this is specified from: System Admin-> Setup -> System parameters -> File Store

You can try set this up and it should resolve the issue

I have got the email working nicely now. Thank you.

When you email a statement, is it kept anywhere within AX?

Also is there anywhere of putting in the email body, where to get in touch if there is a query?

    Thank you

    Hello Simon,

In print management, when you go into print setup, at the top you can click print archive. That way it will save a copy of every statement into the archive. Now you can go into Organization administration > Inquiries > Print archive to see everything that was emailed.

You can setup an email template in Organization administration > Setup > E-mail template by going to File, New file out the information in the Overview. Then click E-Mail message at the bottom, and insert your message there. Click the General Tab and assign this template to a Batch group. No when you create the Batch Job select that Batch Group and it will use that email template you setup.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Boris,

Thank you for such useful information. I have tried to set up this and created an email template with a body and selected a batch group in it. But when I have scheduled a batch job to print collection letters with the use of the print management feature and with the created batch group I was able to receive an email but the email template was not used. Do you have any thought why this might not be working?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
