How manage returnable packaging in AX 2012

Hye every one,

I would be very grateful if you can help me.

so, a company sells a finished product with a packaging (pallet).  This company collect  a caution from these customer.

when the packaging is returned, the customer gets his caution.

is there a way ti manage this under AX 2012.

    Not very gracefully I regret. What you can do is to include the packaging item with separate positive and negative lines in your sales order at different stages.

    1. Just sell the items as usual with the product as one sales line and the packaging material as a separate sales line.

    2. Then when/if the packaging material is returned the person receiving it posts a negative line on the same sales order.

    This will result in a credit note.

    You can set up your posting profiles for the item or the item group to tak accounting in to consideration, posting the caution of packaging materials to a separate account for holding.

    Hi Lamounia,

    I remember that there is a country-specific feature for Austria available that might help. Please see: technet.microsoft.com/.../aa498648.aspx

    Maybe you can use this feature as a basis for making an adjustment to the standard AX features available for your country.
