We have Dynamics R2. How does one update the 1099 data with the 1099 NEC form?

Have you seen this post from MS?

community.dynamics.com/.../updated-1-13-2021---information-on-the-1099-nec-release-for-ax-2012-r3

Your R2 version is out of the mainstream support.

As a result, you have to take care about these things yourself.

Probably talk to a technical expert how to deal with that in R2.
