Incorrect Checkbook

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I had an inquiry from a staff accountant that entered an entire month of transactions into the wrong checkbook, is there a simple way to adjust that or should we void all the transactions and re-enter them line by line?

Void and re-enter transactions will be the best solution, as system will handle links itself otherwise there are chances of data mismatch on some reports. I would suggest not to use any work around for this as Bank transactions are sensitive transactions.

You could Steph, but depending on what kind of transactions have been posted (AP, AR, etc) you might have a lot of tables to update.

I was wondering if a SQL thing could be done behind the scenes, but I'm guessing that wouldn't show up in the bank rec module correctly huh?

    Hi Steph -

I take it these are AP Invoice transactions?   Are you using the Bank Reconciliation module?   There really isn't a simple way to adjust the checkbook on these transactions.....the best solution is to let the system handle it and void the transactions and re-enter them.    You could enter all the transactions into a spreadsheet and use Integration Manager to bring them into AP to save some time.
