Duplicates when I import data

Posted on by 5

Hi everyone,

I imported data in Dynamics 365 using Excel templates
Although the Name field is a primary key but I still had duplicates that were added?

Do you have any idea how to avoid duplicates?

    Duplicates when I import data
    Hi,

To prevent duplicates from entering the CRM system during data import using Excel templates, consider leveraging the DeDupeD app by Inogic. DeDupeD is an invaluable tool designed to help users take proactive measures to minimize the occurrence of duplicates within their CRM system. Here's how DeDupeD can assist specifically in the context of preventing duplicates during data import:
Preventing Duplicates During Import: - DeDupeD offers configurable rules and validation mechanisms that allow you to set criteria for preventing the entry of duplicate records during the data import process.

By defining specific conditions within the app, you can ensure that only unique data is added to your Dynamics 365 CRM system.

Server-Side Deduplication: - DeDupeD prevents duplicates on both the client side and the server side, providing comprehensive duplicate prevention measures.

Users can prevent duplicates when creating new records or updating existing ones, enhancing data quality and integrity.

In summary, the DeDupeD app by Inogic is a powerful solution to address and prevent duplicates in Dynamics 365. By leveraging its configurable rules, server-side capabilities, and workflow integration, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of encountering duplicate records during data import and ensure the integrity of your CRM data.

Please ensure that you configure the app according to your organization's specific requirements and data management policies for optimal results.

Download your free 15-day trial from the Inogic website or Microsoft AppSource to get started!

    Thanks!

RE: Duplicates when I import data

    Hi Loic,

Yes, you can use XRM toolbox and then the Duplicator tools,

Just you must click on Load entities, select your match field and then clieck on Find duplicates.

You can also export the duplicates records on Excel file.

Another solution, you can export your records in Excel and then create filters in your Excel file.

Please mark the answer as verified if that's helpful for you.

    Hi Loic,

Two solutions you can use :

    1. You create a duplicate detection rule from Data Management in Advanced settings and you add all the criterias that you want.

    2. You add a key from make.powerapps.com > Your table > Key

I hope tha's helpful for you.
