I need to share tier 2 (SANDBOX: STANDARD ACCEPTANCE TEST) with tier 1 (SANDBOX: DEVELOP AND TEST)  through a shared folder in case it is not possible I would like you to help me see how.

I can pass all the information from one environment to another it should be noted that I do not have an azure subscription.

If it is possible to do it with the lcs but if I am looking for the way to share an environment to another

I have the same question (0)

    Hi xcarrillo,

Do you need it as permanent shared folder or just once to transfer a file or so? The easiest way for one time usage and small files it to use a RDP connection. But keep in mind the it is planned to reduce the RDP access to the sandbox environment. In the future we will not have Admin Access and in Long time no Access any more.

Could you tell us a bit more about your actual functional requirement? Most likely there's some other way to resolve it in the cloud world.

Thank you for your answers, but at the moment I am in a situation in which I would like to know if it is possible that both virtual the one of UAT with the one of DEV could have shared folders to be able to move data.

What is your actual functional requirement? What data are you talking about?

If you want to move data between the systems, you should use either data entities / data packages, or copy the whole database.

For T2, you will actually export the database to LCS Asset library via LCS. You don't need to login to the server (and in newer T2 systems you can't login to the server at all).

Also data package export / import happens either inside the D365 user interface, or via LCS.

Just forget about servers and folders in all other than dev systems. D365 is a service. You use the capabilities of the service to import/export data, integrate between systems etc.

If you want to set up some kind of systems integration, also that can't use local folders. You have to understand that we are now in cloud and there is no such concept as "local folder" in the cloud.

If you can tell us more about your requirement, we can definetely provide you better ways to resolve it.

My requirement is when moving the DataBase, the model and the trx save as much time as possible, since that takes a long time to do.

I have seen that I can do it through Bacpac or lcs but if there is a more efficient way of doing it I would like you to tell me how I have seen forums where they indicate that the process can be automated.

But from my own experience and what made me post it here in the forum is that when I made an environmental movement it took me more than 10 hours when the movement of the bases could have been solved in less time by simply sharing the folder.

I do not know if my query is clear but I would like you to give me ideas on how to be able to do a basic information step effectively or, on the contrary, some strategy where you can optimize time

Ok, so now we know what you actually want to do.

The slowest part is importing bacpac to Tier1 database andto no fileshare can make that faster..

The best way for copying data from Tier2 to Tier1 is:

    1) Export Tier 2 db to Asset library in LCS

    2) Login to Tier1 via RDP

    3) Download bacpac from LCS

    4) Import bacpac via command line

If others need the same backup, you can now export .bak file from Tier1 SQL Server and share to others. So only one user needs to import the bacpac.

    Hi,

If the file is big, use Azure storage, it's one of the fastest ways.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../storage-account-create

    docs.microsoft.com/.../storage-use-azcopy-v10

Of course through Bacpac but I told him that I was doing the following:

I performed Backup and then mounted it in the environment.

Because the guides that I found did not give me in detail how to make the bacpac perhaps it could help me by indicating how I could carry out the whole process that is indicating me with guides.

It should be noted that it is my first implementation and I am learning according to what I am reading

Check here how to export Tier2 database via LCS: docs.microsoft.com/.../export-database
