I need to change the publisher of Solution A. Let's say it's from publisher "CRM" with the Prefix "crm". Now the solution is already deployed (managed) on other instances.

So can I just change the Publisher of the Solution in the dev environment to Publischer "AX" and deploy it normally or do I have to change it like rename the Display Name and the prefix of the already exisiting publisher "CRM"?

Hi

Managed solution publisher cannot be changed by importing a new version of the managed solution with different publisher.

You either have to delete the managed solution from the target and import the solution again or just change the display name and prefix of the existing publisher

No can do!

Since its a managed solution.

As it makes sense for this validation to be in place.

Workaround would be to create a new solution with the required components, and then do dev with the publisher moving forward. Or to simply update the name field on the publisher record.

Hi Manuel,

You can't change/create a new publisher of the source solution. The following error will occur if you try to import the solution.

You can update the Display name and prefix information of the existing publisher(CRM).
