Customization distortion/re-arrangement

Hi all,

What causes customization to change from modified to original without someones interruption?

Had anyone experienced this before?

This happens to Windows (modified using VBA and modifier) and reports modified using report writer.

Regards,

RomRyan

    Hi RomRyan,

Do the modified windows/reports go missing or does the system just revers back to the canned version?

One scenario I encountered in the past is that the System Admin created a mirror of the drive where the Reports.DIC file (in the specified folder) gets overwritten.  They did this to ensure that the same file gets used for all users.

    Try checking that. :)

    Hi RomRyan,

Access to the custom forms/reports is managed in GP thru the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports window : Administration >> Setup >> System >> Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports

When you define a profile to be assigned to GP users, it also means that anyone doing any changes to this profile is going to impact all the users that are assigned to profile in the GP user security...

Unless you have an audit trail software enabled, it will be hard to figure out who played with the Alternate/Modified profiles.. Check in the security who could have access to this window. By default it's only available to users assigned to the roles "IT OPERATIONS MANAGER*" and "PA MANAGER*"... The task associated with this form is ADMIN_SYSTEM_001*.. so if you have any other custom roles defined, check for this task.
