Hello,
I need to purchase licences under the new licence framework for D365 Finance (on cloud). A project team is working on the next phase of implementation (they currently have unified operations licences). Most of the project team have "system admin" role, can someone help me understand which licence they would require Finance/SCM/Commerce (or all?)?
Thanks
Hi ancal,
Without having more details is very difficult; not to say impossible identifying which licenses you need. You would need to talk to your MS partner and/or Microsoft to clarify what licenses are needed based on your processes.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Ancal,
The system administrator roll is a cross application role which requires either Finance, SCM or Commerce. Just one of these would be sufficient. That is also stated in the licensing guide. Quote:
"Admin rights apply across Commerce, Finance, and Supply Chain Management applications. For example, if you have a Finance license, you have the admin rights for Finance, as well as Supply Chain Management, and Commerce applications."
What about if the organization has D365 Sales and Customer Service as well? Do system admins require a license from the CE side as well?
Hi Connor,
Users with the system administrator role would require an additional license for Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Service. This could be an "attach" license, as outlined in the licensing guide.
