Copy database from live to test environment

Hi,

Every time i copy the copmany database form prod into test environmnet, users complain about thier unability to access the test

even though i copy the dynamics database as well

Is there any particular procedure for that?

    Follow KB 878449. YOu need to capture the login ID's and then reset their passwords.

    If you have already doine this, what is preventing them from accssing GP?

    I go it, according the KB is the server name is different between Live & Test then password must be reset

    That is correct. The passwords are tied to the server name and since the server names will be different the passwords need to be reset.

    Aren't they actually tied to the SID? I didn't think it would work even if the server was the same name.

    Would it not just be easier to create a Test company in the existing SQL instance and copy your live to test?    If it is important there is a script to reset company ids in the GL Tables (all though for testing not required).
