Ideally, you should never edit/delete any ledger entry through Object Designer. You should reverse to entry to nullify the posted effects.

And with respect to Open Service Order, make sure Inventory Posting Group exists on the Item before selecting on Order Line else you will need to re-select the line again on the Order.

    RE: ERROR POSTING SERVICE ORDER

    Hi Bibeth

If the Service Order is Open then You can delete the particular item and re-insert it,

If you have posted service shipment for the said item then there is an impact on the ledger entries.

    Thanks

    RE: ERROR POSTING SERVICE ORDER

You should not delete the Item ledger entry as it will make your system vulnerable and there will not be any relation.

It is not recommended at all. If you entries are wrong then reverse those entries but not delete.

    Hi,

May I know what is the effect if I delete a line in Item Ledger Entries through Designer Object?

    Regards,

    Bibeth

For entering the inventory posting group in open service order

    1) If it is one service order then you can delete the line and reenter again

    2) If you want to update in several service order then you need to write small program to update the same.

Thank you all for your answer.

I have populated the service order and found out that there is no Inventory Posting Group
and I think it is in the setup of Vehicle.  I go to the Vehicle Menu and search the VIN the Inventory Posting Group is already exist in Vehicle Card.

How can I add the Inventory Posting Group in open Service Order?

You might have attached inventory posting group to item after entering line in transaction. Kindly zoom by using Ctrl +F8 and check whehter inventory posting group populated on line

If not then delete the line and reenter again

Did you add it now or it was already there?

Please remove the line and add again.

If you have entered the inventory posting group after entering the line on the order then it will not reflect the order, you need to delete the line from the order and re-enter the line on order again.
