D365 F&O and POS customisation with API integration for specific types of Items

Hi

Can you please help in pointing me to any advice or learning as I am beginner on Retail.
We have a requirement to add some custom fields in FnO on an Item.  When a transaction is added on a Retail POS, these custom field values will be used to determine
if additional value must be entered on the transaction and a API request will be sent to a 3rd Party.  The response needs to be displayed on the screen.
Depending on the result in the api response, the transaction can be added to the cart or not.

1.  After custom fields have been added in F&O (Commerce Tab on Released Product) how do I get them in POS.
2.  How do I custom POS, to add additional fields and also the process when adding transactions to the cart.
3. Best way to integrate to 3rd party using API.
4.  If I have connection fields added to  F&O what is best way to access them from thePOS.

Can you assist in learning or a process to follow to be able to add this customisation in the correct manner and following Best Practices.

Kind regards

Configure Headquarters: Sign in to Commerce and navigate to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > POS setup > POS profiles > Custom fields. Add the new custom field and specify the necessary details.

Screen Layout Designer: Use the screen layout designer to add the custom field to the POS layout. Navigate to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > POS setup > POS > Screen layouts, select the layout, and use the designer to add the custom field.
