I have the need to create a production order that produces two items.
Basically one BOM, one route and the output is two items. The reason for this request is that I have a single mold with different shapes and each shape is a stock unit.
Is this possible to achieve in AX? and if yes how?

If you have AX2012 something like that is possible. But it`s not a "production order" but a so called "batch order". In item level you have to maintain so called formula`s and by / co products. By using there batch orders you are able to get multiple items out of one order.
