Do you know if it's planned the toggle "Work in offline mode" to be added for Field Service mobile?
I'm working in a scenario where more than 70% of the time is an intermittent connectivity, so I'm looking for the same feature as Dynamics 355 for phones. Currently users are switching off mobile data but this is not an accepted action but considered as a workaround.
Does anyone have any recommendation to deal with this?
Hi,
Please refer to the following documentation.
Configure offline data for the Field Service (Dynamics 365) mobile app | Microsoft Docs
It contains the steps of configuring offline capabilities in the Field Service (Dynamics 365) mobile app.
I am experiencing the same thing. Not sure if its a bug or if they have removed it on purpose
All steps have beet set up more than once just to ensure everything is ok. The doubt us specifically about if anyone knows if that toogle will be enabled soon for Field Service.
When Offline is enabled for the new D365 Field Service Mobile there is no toggle to go online. This is by design and done so app users who have no or intermittent connectivity can have a consistent app experience without needing to be cognizant of device connectivity.
I absolutelly agree but at least in my scenario this is becoming a mess. The intermittent connection is causing a lot of delays in the synced data and also errors. Currently is handled manually on the mobile device but this is not liked so much.
What would the best scenario to be implemented on the syncronization that forces de app only to download/upload data twice a day?
Currenlty my offline profile is configured for all tables to be synced twice a day. Is this the best approach?
The application will sync down from the server at intervals defined in the offline profile. Currently there will be a max of 1 hour as noted here: docs.microsoft.com/.../mobile-power-app-system-offline
When the device has connectivity and data on the device is changed, it will sync to the server on save. If there is no connectivity the up-sync will happen the next time a connection is made with the server.
The offline-enabled application should run consistently when online or offline in this way. Eventually it would need an internet connection to sync data up and down but incremental syncs should be fast.
Curious on the types of errors you are seeing?
Hi Jonathan, below are the main error we face:
Syncing/Saving failures
When working on field on offline with internet suddenly sync is corrupted.
The worst thing on this is that the affected workorders as logged in the sync error view is that ALL DATA IS LOST. So we need to re-edit the whole workorder and this is causing delays on our operations.
For example on below table are the affected workorders
Hello,
This looks like atypical behavior. It would be good for you to open a Service Request with Microsoft Support in order to better understand your scenario and debug this issue.
I did open a Microsoft ticket. Hopefully this will be resolved fast. Let you know the final solution.
I was curious if you ever found a solution to this? I am having the same problem with the offline mode losing data.
