i am a crm developer and have been looking at starting to lear AX but it seems there is a lot less info then CRM

where can I find some information like best practices, sdk download, sample codes?

    You can download VPC, whitepapers, tutorials, presentations, videos on information source.

    Login to informationsource.dynamics.com with your customer/partner ID

    You can also login to partnersource with your customer/partner ID for documents, training manuals

    mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource

    Also there is great stuff at MSDN
