Workflow running against wrong regarding value

Hi there,

In our D365 environment, there are 2 synchronous and 1 asynchronous workflow on same fields (HM Account Lead and HM Success Lead) and the workflow has to run against Test Record that I have created in the system but workflow is not running properly. I also checked from System Jobs and came to know that Regarding column shows wrong value and that is consistently wrong and I dont know what seems to be the issue here. Please let me know if anyone could confirm what's the issue here as I'm still confused in this.

Thanks!

Below is the record that I have created in the system and want the workflow to run against.

Below is the workflow job that shows wrong Regarding Value (Smarts Broker).

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Partner,
Can you share more details of the workflow?
Please provide screenshots of the triggers and all actions, this will help us to understand the logic of the workflow and know why it is not working on the records you want.
The wrong regarding value--Smarts Broker.. is another customer record? or other entity's record?
    1) another customer record:
    --What's the workflow trigger?
    2) other entity's record
--Possibly the wrong entity was selected on workflow.
    Like this..checking entity?start when?steps?

I hope you can verify my answer if it helps you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

    Hi Leah,

Below is the workflow that was configured previously in our system and I'm trying to test this workflow but I believe it is running against different record. The "Smart Brokers" is actually the customer record. The below workflow is configured for Customer Entity on update of two fields.

The check condition of the workflow is as follows:

If Customer:Parent Company contains data then Update:Customer (HM Segment = clear)

If Parent Company (Customer):HM Segment contains data AND Customer:Parent Company contains data then Update:Customer (customer is updated with Parent's HM Segment)

Please confirm if the above information helps to get better understanding of what seems to be the problem.

    Thanks!

    Hi Partner,
So, workflow is running on correct entity, but bot on correct record that you want.
I noticed that the trigger is 'Record fields change' in the workflow, so the workflow will be triggered  when fields change.
Fields you have selected are HM Account Lead and HM Success Lead, Right?
If this is the case, you will need to update any two fields in the Test Record and then the workflow will be triggered on this record.
--Related -> Audit History to check if these fields have changed:
Go to "Test Record" and "Smart Brokers" form to check it.
I hope you can verify my answer if it helps you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

    Hi,

Ensure that the user or system executing the workflow has the appropriate permissions to access and manipulate the data related to the "regarding" value. Access restrictions might cause unexpected behavior.
