I'm new to AX, I want to create a new module like AP. For that i want to create a parameter table, can anyone explain about what is purpose of parameter table to creating a new module.

In addition: A functional and technical design of a new module/solution would justify the need for a parameters table/form in your scenario. I wonder if you are now trying to start which something where you don't have enough experience yet. You have asked a very basic question. For that reason, first try to understand all concepts of Microsoft Dynamics AX before start to make any changes. You can easily overlook something...

Parameters help control the functionality in a module. Number sequences for the module is typically stored on parameters form. For e.g. if you look at General ledger parameters it helps control so many things.. here are few for your understanding:
1. Check for voucher used - Set value to "Reject duplicate".. This control specific functionality during General journal postings.
2. There are so many other parameters.
Parameters are mostly applicable to a legal entity so that you can have maintain different functionalities in different legal entities.
However, it is up to you to decide what you want to add in parameters form/table, system doesn't require that you need to have parameters form / table. Please consider the functionality available in AX before you go down the path of creating custom module.
