I'm not an expert on the subject, but if the items do not have direct demand, the effect on master planning can be reduced.

There is no limitation for the number of released products. Keep in mind that more products can be cumbersome for users to find the correct item. Also some tasks like MRP run or reporting might be slower due to the number of products to calculate.
