Create a part Inventory Pick from a job/project

Hi,

We often have a very large list of items in our job/projects and often only want to pick certain items at each stage. However, we are finding we can only create an inventory pick for all items that are set 'ready to pick', instead of being able to manually select which items we want to pick. Is it possible to manually specify which items in the job/project we want to pick?

Thank you,
Olivia

    Hi,

I am not totally sure that you can do this without adding some development.

When you create the inventory pick you can filter on the folloinw fields so you may need some way to identify the items that you want to pick.  Is there anyway that the items can be grouped? Split into separate tasks?
Would it be easy to perhaps tick a new boolean field to filter on the items to pick?

    Thanks,
    Shauna

    Hi Olivia,
Yes, in standard BC you can only create Inventory Picks for all items that are "ready to pick." To manually control which items to pick, you can either:

    1. Use Warehouse Pick (if using advanced warehousing), which allows line-level control, or

    2. Create partial shipments or split job planning lines to limit what's ready.

For full flexibility, a small customization may be needed to enable manual selection in the Inventory Pick process.

Inventory Pick means you are not using the advance warehousing.

Now this works for all the planning lines as we don't have this on the planning screen but why not to give the filter right here on this screen.

Enter Item filter and then execute the process.

Create a part Inventory Pick from a job/project
    Hello,

In standard Inventory Pick functionality in Business Central, it is not possible to manually select specific items from the job/project for picking. When you create an inventory pick, the system includes all lines that are marked as Ready to Pick based on the source document (like Job Planning Lines). To pick only certain items, you must first adjust the source document (e.g., reduce quantities or update status) so only the required items are marked as ready. Manual selection of individual lines during pick creation is not supported without customization.

To control without customization which items to pick, you can either adjust the quantities in the Pick Worksheet before creating the pick or use Warehouse Picks (if advanced warehousing is enabled) for more granular control.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni
