Creation/Assignation of Business Processes Header and Tasks to Worker via Power Automate

Posted on by 70

Hi,

We have a scenario to assign Business Processes Header and Tasks to Worker via Power Automate, but in Dynamics 365 HR only those Business process Appearing which was not inserted via Power Automate although the record is present in the entity(table). When we perform the Start process from Business processes templates it appears correctly in Business Processes Lists.

There is a field ProcessID in Business Process Headers and it is not mandatory I guess this is something again not sure.
Your comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Muhammad Saad Rafiq.

    Hello Muhammad,

The reason that the information is not synced back to HR is because of the fields Business Process Header > ProcessId and Business Process Task > TaskId.  Both fields are required, read-only and keys in the entities at Dataverse. I guess these fields are filled in HR when you click Start Process in HcmGenericProcessTemplateListPage form. So, at the moment I think it's not possible to create them through Dataverse directly.

    Hi Parag,

Yes, I set GUID dynamically in the process_id field but still not showing, I guess it is a lookup of an Entity which one not cleared.

    Thanks,

    Muhammad Saad Rafiq.

    Hi Muammad,

When you create a record in the system manually, then It did not ask and If you check at Dataverse then It created a GUID value in the process.

The process ID is required as per dataverse entity.
