Check Printing inconsistency

Posted on by

Hello,

I have this issue where the check printed on one page all up until last Friday. Then when I print again, it prints on two pages, i have the correct paper size selected on the printer, the check data just falls off onto a second page. The report writer form is fine as well.

When i sign out of GP and sign back in as sa. The check prints on one page. Then once i print the checks, post the batch and then go back to print another check, it goes back to printing on two pages.

Any idea what can be causing this?

Notes:

-Modified form is being used in Alternate Modified Forms and reports

-One dictionary exists

-Same printer that i have been using always

-Happens inconsistently. I logged out and back in and it even printed with two pages again this time.

Help.

GP report writer Tests / Checks the format of the print queue before even sending anything to screen..

I've had a client who kept receiving an error about paper size and margin, thought it was printing to screen, but the default printer was a continuous label printer in GP.. and the report was expecting a 'Letter' format selected by the printer.

So make sure that you set the Microsoft PDF print queue as your default printer to run some consistent tests.

    Hi Beat,

I will try this. Note however, it prints two pages to screen even before I pick the printer.

    HI Ali,

What's the printer model & driver you're using / getting those results on ?

Have you tried to switch your default printer to PDF and send the check output to a file ? are you using the built-in Check print of GP or a tool like Mekorma ?
