We have had feedback from auditors that the standard audit reports from D365 are cumbersome and difficult to use for SOX audits when looking at segregation of duties and users to roles and duties. The two reports that we usually run from the path D365 FO > system administration > security > are "Security audit user to role" and "Security audit user to duty". These are extracted to excel workbooks and then pivot tables prepared. The final pivot tables are large workbooks and cumbersome to use. Does anyone have other report suggestions that we might look at to try to improve these reports please?
Hi Jeremybv,
Extracting the security related data is cumbersome and for several questions, the default is not sufficient. You can consider using Power BI, some customizations or have a look at ISV solutions for additional features on security and compliance.

After querying, it is found that the description of the security report is only mentioned in the system management > query > security path. For the description of the report, you can view the following link:

SOX compliance is not made of a single workspace or functionality but rather of a number of different tools and instruments that are available in many different areas in D365FO. A related discussion can be found in the link below:

Thank you Andre.
Yes we wondered about using Power BI too, although because this doesn't come directly from D365, some of the auditors question this, but we can deal with this.
Thank you I will take a look at this link that you provided for ISV solutions too.
Thank you Hana.
I will spend some time reading these links and see what additional thoughts this provides.
Yes agreed, that SOX compliance is a number of different tools. This question I had, was just one of many reports that we are using.

Jeremy
