Hello experts,
 
I could not download the Dynamics 365 F&O assets for my UDE workstation. Where can I find a PackagesLocalDirectory.zip rather than downloading from VS? Can I go to one of the CHE and copy the PackagesLocalDirectory folders?

    Theoretically that's possible if you have the exact same version but my guess is that there are probably extra files that might be missing and it won't work. Why are you not able to download the F&O assets using VS?

    Hi LB Developer,

    There is no public place form where you can download the UDE assets. They are bound to the version of your UDE environment. Do you get errors during the download? Note that once it is working and the environment was updates with a new version, it will start downloading again as the metadata should match the exact environment.

    Hi LB Developer,
     
    There are no PackagesLocalDirectory in an UDE environment available initially. You download the Power Platform components and connect to Dataverse instance.
    On connecting to the Power Platform tools and extensions you will be prompted with a window to download the FO tools and extensions. This window has to appear while connecting to the Dataverse instance and on selecting the solution. On selecting Yes, you will have the PackagesLocalDirectory in a .zip format. Extract the PackagesLocalDirectory to a repository. Post this, you need to configure the Metadata and while configuring the Metadata you can have a separate repository for custom components and a separate repository with the PackagesLocalDirectory.
