    Hi Sivakumar,

What is the business requirement here? Do you need a report or a file export with a certain format? In the second case, wouldn't it be better to use data management features?

There is no such thing as "Notepad format". The file format is CSV and that is created when your export the report to CSV.

Notepad is a program for displaying or editing files.

If you import the CSV to Excel, does the data display correctly?

In real life business scenario, nobody will read the CSV with Notepad, instead they import it to Excel, or perhaps it's imported in some other system. So you must test the actual scenario if you need to know if the file is good or not.

Nevertheless, I would also recommend using Data Management to export CSV files from D365FO.

    Hi Sivakumar,

I have not seen Notepad being used as business critical application. What is the full process and what is the client doing after they opened the file in Notepad? What is the purpose?

Like mentioned above, usage of data export with data management features in CSV format is the recommended approach.
