Assign a Quality association by item configuration

Hi experts,
 
Does anyone know whether we are able to create a quality association (Reference type = Purchase) when our RAWM item has a configuration / released product variant?
We use Quality associations at item level on a regular basis and have now introduced a number of configured items.
 
Appreciate any direction possible with this.

    Hi,

    As of now, in standard quality management in D365 Supply Chain Management, it is not possible to create quality associations variant-wise (i.e., based specifically on configurations within a product master). Quality associations work at the item level, but not on individual product variants like configuration, color, or size.

    So if you're using a product with configurations, the quality association applies at the item master level — not per variant — which may not meet all complex QA scenarios.

    You may have to think of a custom solution for now or if you can wait for version 44, a whole new experience is coming for quality management, may be this requirement is taken care of already.

    Thank you for your reply and confirmation.
    I've had a good read through the new release due in 10.0.44 which looks interesting. Watching through the short demo didn't seem to show anywhere on the form a product variant / configuration field.
     
    We can have a look once released for sure though, and if it's not added then customisation could be the option.
