Hi,

I have a grid I created has a data source from also a new table I created, I want to stop the grid to save automatically

or

if I can add values for the grid with each record the grid add in the table it would be better

Details:

the grid has three fields, and the fields I need to add it's five.. but because the other 2 fields are the same every time I open the grid I didn't put them in the grid, on of them it's saved with the other 3 fields, but the last one it's empty.. I don't why! maybe because I have a range on this one.. I don't :(

if any help I would be thankful

You said "records", therefore it seems that you want the datasource to hold multiple modified datasource without saving them anywhere. Then no, it's not possible.

Consider using a temporary table as the data source. The button will then copy records from the temporary table to the persistent one.

    to be clear,

I want to disable the auto save of the grid in its data source, I'll save the records via button I created.. and to be specific only disable the auto insertion, but the editing and deleting should be working, is that possible?

Unfortunately your description is insufficient - it's not clear to me what you're trying to do, therefore I can't say whether it's possible or not.

A grid is bound to a data source. If the action currently saving the record keeps the same record loaded, then your requirement is doable.

But if you switch to another record and you don't save the values anywhere, you'll simply lose them. You must choose - you'll either save changes (e.g. to a temporary table) or they don't get saved at all.

You'll have to tell us more about your scenario if you want a more specific answer.

    no it's not the case

to avoid the confusing, let's say I just want to disable auto saving for the grid

    Hi Kareem ,

the subject of the question is a bit misleading , suggest to change it to something related ...

if i understood correctly .... you have lets field4,field5 will be always like field1,field2 ... why not to use the "modifedfield" method so once Field 1 changed to set the other field4 with same value and so on ...

Please mark the answer as yes if this helped .
