Report print preview not showing the correct text characters

Dear All,

May I please know if anyone of you encounter issue in AX 2012 R2 CU7 SSRS Preview Screen showing "square" instead of showing Thailand character something like this "กรมศุลกากร".

See my sample AX 2012 R2 CU7 SSRS Report (Input Tax) below:

Do you see correct characters in AX GUI?

By the way, you attached tag AX 2012 R2 CU7 SSRS Report print preview not showing the correct text characters, which I had to split and I removed parts that don't make good sense as tag. I also changed your title not to repeat details that are already covered by tags.

Yes I can see the correct character in AX GUI, the problem only happens in Report print preview screen.

Make sure you have the correct Collation set for the reporting database, and if your Regional settings in Windows on your SSRS and AX AOS instances are supporting/matching the character set that you are trying to display on your report.

Do I understand correctly that it happens only when previewing in Visual Studio and not when actually deployed to a report server?

Hi Martin,

No, the SSRS Report are already deployed and it was Standard AX SSRS Report. It happens when I print priew (screen) the reports that have Thailand character language.

So what exactly did you mean by "the problem only happens in Report print preview screen"? That it happens with print destination = screen, but not with other print destinations?

Hi Martin,

Yes it was happen in Print Destination = Screen and Print Destination = PDF.

If I do Print Destination = Excel or Word it shows the correct characters.

Does it happen to all users / on all computers? Did it work before?

I suspect it's a problem with missing fonts.

Try setting up and deploying a static version of that report, to pre-render labels for all supported languages, rather than doing it on the fly. Here is the documentation on how to do that:

It's happen to all Reports, even I do redeploy all SSRS still the same results.
