What do the < > mean around a GL account number?

My short term memory problem is kicking in again. Someone asked me why their GL accounts appear as <00-000-1000> under Cards->Financial->Accounts and I have forgotten what that visual cue means. Can someone please remind me? Is there a way to turn that off?

Hi Richard,

You can turn this on/off under "User Preferences" (Horizontal Scroll Arrows).

Help mentions:

Select this field if you want to use horizontal scrolling fields. Horizontal scrolling fields will display account numbers that are too long to view in text fields. If you use horizontal scroll fields, you can set up scrolling buttons which allow you to view and then edit these numbers.
