Switch to Modern Authentication - Sending Multiple Emails fails

Hi,

Using: Dynamics GP 2018.3 Desktop

We recently cut over from Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication and configured Dynamics GP to use it as well. Followed this guide:

docs.microsoft.com/.../multi-factor-authentication

We send invoices to customers via email from the app. The system configuration is to send emails via exchange. Typically we send these by going Sales > Transactions > Print Sales Documents > Send Document in Email. We typically send to batches containing more than 1 document to send.

This has worked fine under basic authentication, but after changing to Modern Auth, the first email is successfully sent, but nothing after that. No error is reported anywhere. In the exchange admin panel I can see the first email successfully delievered, but no trace of any of the others.

Cutting back over to Basic Authentication fixes the problem. This is not a solution however, as Microsoft will be terminating basic auth support soon.

Any tips on where to start Dynamics gurus??

    Hi Jerry - I'm Colin's colleague (He has moved on from our org, so replying on his behalf just in case he doesn't see your message...) 
    To my knowledge, the hotfix did not fix the modern auth/multiple emails issue. We're still stuck on basic auth, still looking for a solution.

    We're also investigating a new issue that arose since installing the hotfix. Reports are crashing the application for our users. (This GPUG forum post I found describes the new issue almost exactly).
    I can't say with certainty that it was the hotfix that caused the new problem, but it's the only recent change we've made, so if you're going to try it yourself, exercize caution.

    Thank you Isaac. This is almost exactly our problem statement, although the docs say ' not sending with MFA', but I believe the issue to be with Modern Auth.

    I'll apply the hotfix ASAP and do some testing.

    Hi Colin, 

    I know there was an issue with multiple documents not sending with MFA on the initial version of 18.3 that was corrected in the 2021 February Hotfix (18.3.1245) so if you are not on 18.3.1245 or higher, I would recommend updating versions to resolve the issue.  You can see it if listed on the fix list for the update below.
